PURPOSE OF POSITION: To oversee all day-to-day operations as they relate to electrical, mechanical and plumbing repairs, and maintain clean campus. To work in conjunction with the Director- Facilities and outside regulating Agency inspectors; to be responsible for correcting any aspects of maintenance that are cited by inspection. Perform maintenance functions as determined by the Director – Facilities.

Schedule: Monday 7:30am-4pm 

 ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma, and trade school diploma preferred. 
• Significant experience with, and knowledge of, major building systems, particularly electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other service systems.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the facilities maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of safety codes and regulations.
• Ability to learn and use Main Boss system.
• Ability to work both independently and as an active team member.
• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences.
• Ability to maintain professional demeanor while exercising judgment and discretion in work.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to climb and descend stairs and ladders.
• Ability to work while standing on a ladder.
• Ability to work outdoors as needed in all weather conditions.
• Ability to drive a truck and car.
• Valid Illinois driver's license.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Perform the routine maintenance functions in order to keep the Agency facilities and grounds functional and operational.
• Provide ongoing input to the Director– Facilities with regard to maintenance staff performance at the Boys Campus.
• Ensure all equipment is in working order.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and property and maintain accurate records of all maintenance repairs via the MainBoss system.
• Perform electric, plumbing, HVAC and other repairs and work with outside contractor services when necessary.
• Order and purchase building supplies.
• Ability to perform some of the functions of the Director- Facilities when necessary.
• Review and implement all mechanical specifications and operational manuals to make certain they are up to date and applicable to Agency machinery.
• Be on-call for maintenance related emergencies on the campus.
